I had the chance to receive a whole set of ITEAD 433mhz stuff from them to test and see if they are compatible with OpenMQTTGateway, let's first begin by a look to the sensors and remote control.
As they are all at least compatible with one OMG module, they are now added into the OpenMQTTGateway compatibility list.

Let's begin by the PIR2 PIR sensor:

PIR2 PIR sensor

It looks more modern compared to the other PIR sensors we have seen before, it has a blue led light in the front and is presented as pet immune.

It sends one signal when triggered, the protocol used is compatible with OMG and in particular the following gateway:

  • ZgatewayRF (ESP32 or ESP8266 with an RF receiver)
  • ZgatewaySRFB (Sonoff RF Bridge)
Here is the official link:

Now if we take a look to the power consumption of this sensor we can see that:
  • When sending signal it consumes 6mA during around 2s
  • The sleep current is around 14uA

This sensor is very well optimized in term of power consumption, it is among the top of the list of the energy savy devices!
It should last several years.

Here is the back side of the package with the main characteristics:

This sensor is powered by 2 AAA batteries, a good choice as these batteries are easy to find and are cheap.

In conclusion a good PIR sensor with a very good autonomy. I recommend it.
